The Guernsey branch of an international law firm has been praised in a global legal directory.
Appleby was praised for “offering commercial advice with a strong bench and an unmatched network of offshore offices” in Chambers Global Guide 2026.
The Guernsey office had “established a reputation as the go-to firm for reorganisations of large UK financial institutions”.
It was also heavily engaged in “start-ups and fund raising for new technology companies”, Chambers said.
Presence in Crown Dependencies
Appleby Guernsey achieved a Band 2 rating – the second highest – for its Corporate and Finance department, with Group Partner Jeremy Berchem and Partner Kate Ovenden also achieving Band 2 ratings.
One big selling point was that Appleby was the “only offshore law firm with a presence in all three of the Crown Dependencies”, Chambers said.
In total, 55 Appleby lawyers across the firm’s international network were recognised in the Chambers Global Guide 2026, along with 15 of the company’s offices.
