The survey targeted people employed in Guernsey to better understand whether flexible working is becoming more common and people’s thoughts on the concept.

It found that 49% of those who answered wouldn’t work somewhere that doesn’t offer flexible working arrangements and that flexible working ranks second in prioritise when considering employment packages.

“As we know, the Covid-19 pandemic had a huge impact on the way we work,” said OSA Recruitment Managing Director, Sophie Gregson.

“As companies witnessed the success and productivity of their employees working from home, many realised the potential benefits of flexible working arrangements beyond the pandemic.”

“The survey highlighted the significance of flexible working in the modern professional landscape. We’d recommend for employers to take these insights into account, and to recognise the value of providing flexible working options to attract and retain talent, foster employee motivation and loyalty, and create a culture that values work-life balance and employee wellbeing.”

393 people completed the survey.
