One of the world’s largest wealth managers has launched its first summer internship for Guernsey students.

Julius Baer – one of the top 10 global wealth managers – said students would get the “chance to undertake valuable work experience and gain insights into banking and financial markets”.

They will also receive a “structured training programme” during the 10-week programme, a spokesperson said.

Alexandra McInnes, Manager of the firm’s Guernsey branch, said she was “excited to meet our interns and help them to grow”.

“Investing in young people in Guernsey is something we’re genuinely passionate about so being able to offer the summer internship is a great way to support emerging talent,” she added.

‘Hands-on experience’

There are two places available, in Compliance and Risk and in Data and Business Analysis.

Students would have a chance to “explore your interests, develop new skills, and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced professionals on real projects”, the spokesperson said.

The internship, which starts on 1 July, is open to undergraduates in their second year and beyond, as well as masters students.

Applications close on 30 April.
