The Medical Specialist Group has appointed Dr Nela-Nicoleta Hotnogu-Srichom as consultant paediatrician.

Dr Hotnogu-Srichom has joined from Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where she managed acute, high-dependency, and complex paediatric care. She has also previously worked as a children’s emergency medicine consultant in Bucharest, Romania.

Her experience includes participating in national research on bronchiolitis, volunteering in rural Romanian communities, and leading a project that reduced minor case waiting times by 37 per cent.

Dr Hotnogu-Srichom says Guernsey’s community-focused environment and safety motivated her family’s relocation.

“MSG also appealed to me because of its strong reputation for high-quality patient care within a community-focused setting,” said Dr Hotnogu-Srichom. “On a personal level, Guernsey offers the kind of environment I want for my family — close to nature, with a strong sense of community, safety, and values.

“The prospect of raising my child in that setting while building a meaningful career made it feel like a very natural fit.”
