Law firm Walkers is marking its tenth anniversary in Guernsey – along with its 25th anniversary in Europe and 20th anniversary in Jersey.

Walkers said it plans to hold client and community events throughout the year to mark the occasion.

Having opened its local office in 2016, the firm has since grown by 180% over the decade, with an office now staffed by close to 70 people, including 14 Partners.

Matt Sanders, a Managing Partner in Guernsey, thanked the clients and staff, and said the firm will continue to invest in its core offering and community interests.

“This milestone is an opportunity to reflect on how far we have come over the past 10 years. We have built a strong team with deep expertise across our core practice areas and are grateful to our clients for the trust they have placed in us.”

He added that he would like to thank the teams responsible “for their commitment and collaboration”.

“As we look ahead, we remain focused on investing in our core practices, including our fintech and regulatory capabilities, and supporting clients on increasingly complex matters.”

Fraser Hern, the Head of Channel Islands, re-emphasised the Guernsey office’s role within the firm’s international structure and confirmed plans for ongoing investment.

“Our Guernsey office is a key part of our Channel Islands offering and plays an important role within our wider European platform,” he said.

“Its growth over the past decade reflects the strength of the local team and the benefits of operating as part of an integrated international firm.

“We remain committed to further investment in Guernsey as we continue to support our clients and contribute to the island’s financial services industry.”
