10 local students will hear from a Horizon Post Office scandal expert today to hone their skills on responsible corporate governance.
The leaders of tomorrow event is being put on by the Institute of Directors for students in post-16 education, sponsored by the Ana Leaf Foundation.
They will hear from Lee Castleton OBE who campaigned against the misccarriage of justice in the false prosecution of hundreds of subpostmasters due to faulty accounting software.
The students will attend the IoD conference in the evening to share their views on the scandal and what it means for businesses.
Hayley de Putron, a Trustee of the Ana Leaf Foundation, said: “Our goal is to provide students with opportunities that allow them to excel and reach their full potential.
“We are thrilled that this programme has given Guernsey’s young people the chance to engage with leaders in the business world, with the hope of inspiring them to become the island’s future leaders.”
Karen Power, a committee member of the Institute of Directors, and lead for its student engagement programme, said: “The IoD is extremely pleased to work with the Ana Leaf Foundation again this year, supporting the Leaders of Tomorrow scheme”.
