Applications have opened for businesses to access the £5.3m of match funding available under the Better Businesses Support Package.
Employers can now put forward their plans to Jersey Business, who are administering the scheme, via a newly launched portal.
The first round of grants is open until the end of 2025. A second round of funding applications will open in 2026.
The Better Businesses Support Package grants form part of a £20m government initiative to improve productivity, competitiveness and investment in training among local businesses.
It also aims to help employers to “thrive” during the shift to a living wage and “well into the future”.
“The Better Business Grant signals a real desire to see Jersey’s economy grow and for businesses across all sectors to thrive,” said Paul Murphy, CEO of Jersey Business.
“We have engaged with businesses since the scheme was announced, making sure that they are ready to benefit from the opportunities based on their business priorities.
“We know that many businesses have already been reviewing the criteria and considering how they can best deploy the grants to invest in their business.”
Mr Murphy added that there is still “plenty of time” for businesses to assess whether they may need support and apply for and receive a grant through the scheme.
He continued: “Improved productivity will help all sectors to grow, and we’re excited about how this scheme will improve profits by enhancing the businesses’ levels of productivity and skills.”
Deputy Kirsten Morel, Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, described the package as a “significant investment” in “improving the productivity” of Jersey’s businesses and the skills of their employees.
“Throughout 2025 and 2026, more than £10m will be available for Jersey employers to invest in their productivity and people, and I would urge all businesses and charities to consider applying,” he added.
Jersey Business said it is encouraging employers who have not considered how the grant could help them to visit their website to find everything they need to know about the grants and the application process.
