Police are working with “specialists” to investigate an emailed bomb threat that sparked an evacuation at Jersey Airport earlier this month, it has emerged.
The force confirmed that an investigation into the “security incident”, which saw flights suspended and triggered an emergency services response that included armed officers, is still ongoing.
No evidence of any device was found on the day and the threat was deemed as “non-credible”, with the Airport later reopened.
In an update on Tuesday, a police spokesperson said: “We are investigating the security incident at the airport, we cannot comment further.”
They continued: “However, we are liaising and engaged with relevant key specialists in order to help us investigate.”

A Ports of Jersey spokesperson said: “We are awaiting the results of the investigation by the States of Jersey Police and cannot comment on anything that could affect that investigation.”
The incident came four weeks after island schools were targeted by a hoaxer.
One of the schools, St George’s Prep in St Peter, had to be evacuated and was closed for the remainder of the day.
That incident is also being investigated.
