The Butcombe Group – which was recently named again in the Sunday Times ‘Best Places to Work’ list – has appointed a longstanding employee as managing director of its managed house division as part of a wider leadership restructure.
Alice Bowyer is taking on the newly-created role after more than a decade with the group, which operates pubs and inns across the south of England and the Channel Islands.
She joined as an executive chef before progressing through a series of senior positions including group executive chef and, most recently, director of food and drink.

Ms Bowyer will now lead the development of the group’s managed house division, with a focus on delivering a more integrated guest experience and continued commercial growth.
Two other promotions have also been announced – Maria Bishop to head of drinks and retail and Jasper Prickett to head of food.
The changes come as the Butcombe Group documented a 23% EBITDA growth in its most recent financial results alongside a like-for-like sales increase of 8%.
Chief operating officer Jayson Perfect said the new leadership structure “ensures we are well positioned to build on that momentum”.
“Alice’s new role reflects not only her exceptional track record within the business but also the breadth of leadership and strategic insight she brings,” he continued.
“Alongside this, the promotions across our team demonstrate our continued commitment to recognising and developing talent as we grow.”
