Global professional services network EY has announced its latest round of management promotions across its Channel Islands offices.

Kayla Van Niekerk will assume the role of Assurance Senior Manager in Jersey, while Kanchan Khantwal has been appointed as Assurance Manager in the Guernsey office. 

Ms Van Niekerk brings extensive wealth and asset management to her position. She has managed and completed numerous financial audits for a range of real estate and private equity clients. Whilst doing so, she maintained compliance with accounting standards and local regulatory law requirements, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). 

She also supports with the facilitation of internal technical training, and is actively involved with EY’s business development activities, both of which will remain a focus in her new role.

Ms Khantwal has a detailed knowledge of accounting standards, local regulatory and statutory law requirements, coming to the role with substantial experience in the wealth & asset management, private equity and real estate industries.

Alongside her technical skills, she is also a keen advocate diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and is a member of EY’s Channel Islands Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) committee. She was instrumental in bringing colleagues together to celebrate Diwali in November for an event which raised funds for Safer, a Guernsey-based charity supporting those affected by domestic abuse.
