The 50th running of Guernsey’s iconic Swimarathon will be from 7 to 11 October, at its ancestral home of Beau Sejour.

Susan Fouquier, CEO of Skipton International said: “The Skipton Swimarathon reflects the very best of our island community.

“For 50 years, volunteers, swimmers, supporters and sponsors have come together to raise vital funds for local causes and create something generations of islanders are proud to support.

“Skipton International has been part of this wonderful event for almost two decades, and we are delighted to continue our support for its landmark anniversary. We look forward to helping the Swimarathon thrive for many years to come.”

The main organisers for the half-century have been Guernsey’s Lions Club and Round Table, who, to mark this milestone are offering a salt water swim option at La Vallette outdoor pool on Friday and Saturday 9 and 10.

While trying to provide a fun event, at the end of the day, it is all about raising as much money as possible for the two clubs to spend on Guernsey-based charities.

Skipton International, Lions Club and Round Table sincerely hope that Swimarathon will remain as relevant within Guernsey Society for the next fifty years. So Dive In, make a Splash and raise some Cash for Les Bourgs Hospice and Guernsey charities.
