The annual Ace Invaders event, run by the Office of the Data Protection Authority and supported by Mourant, will make its return on Saturday 24 January at Beau Sejour.
The free in-person gaming and online safety event brings together local gaming enthusiasts to celebrate their passion.
The purpose of the event is to connect like-minded young people together, with the focus on upskilling them with the knowledge to explore the online world safely.
On the day, there will be live gaming tournaments, prizes and activities.
A number of local stakeholders in the gaming and IT industry will also be running interactive stands promoting digital literacy, internet safety and innovation. To encourage participation, attendees will receive a stamp for their ‘passport’ and those who fill their passport with stamps will have the chance to win a Nintendo Switch, among other prizes.
The founder of the event is Matthew Parker, Chief Information Security Officer at Mourant.
“We want to nurture the curiosity of the younger generation, so they can get the most out of this new era of online connectivity and elevated gaming experiences,” he said.
“However, with technology rapidly developing past the rate of regulation and protection, it has never been more important to learn how to navigate the online world with responsibility and caution. This event is not about fearmongering. It’s about empowering everyone to find joy and fun online, but importantly with the confidence to do so not at their own risk.

“The event is specifically made to be free, so anyone and everyone can access this education. Ace Invaders wouldn’t be possible without the loyal support from our sponsors. Similarly, our passionate volunteers are at the heart of Ace Invaders, driven by their commitment to the next generation of Guernsey’s digital community.”
ODPA Commissioner Brent Homan, added: “As a gaming fan myself, I want everyone to enjoy the immersive experience of gaming safely. We had a fantastic time at the 2025 event and are looking forward to returning to share more important tips to make sure gaming stays both fun and secure!”
