We would be grateful if you could help to promote our Floral Arts events and
particularly our forthcoming Demonstration and Workshop with Nationally
acclaimed and Chelsea silver medal holder, Julie Pearson on the 8th and 9th
March.
Background Our Floral Arts section was formed to take over the task of bringing notable Floral Designers from the UK and elsewhere to provide Demonstrations and Workshops following the sad demise of the Guernsey Flower Arrangement Society in May 2021 after 60 years. Our first event was an afternoon tea and demonstration on the 24th of July 2021. There is a natural synergy with Floral Guernsey who promote growing flowers and enjoying flowers so what better than to have someone showing you how to arrange them properly. Whilst traditional designs are still important and seen in many of our churches, modern designers have pushed the boundaries and use natural materials and elaborate structures to produce incredible results with flowers and foliage supported in hidden test tubes and wires. We aim to cater for all interests and abilities and have a superb mix of Designers in our forthcoming programme of events which are usually monthly. Everything from Ikebana to showing how to transform a bunch of Supermarket flowers into something special.
Julie Pearson will be bringing some exciting new ideas and designs in an organic, modern style. She is a NAFAS National Tutor and area Demonstrator and has had nearly 40 years experience in the floral industry. She is fun, diverse and a breath of fresh air so we would encourage everyone to come along to her Demonstration on 8th March at Les Cotils at 7.00pm. Tickets are available through Eventbrite at a cost of £16.
Her workshop will give hands-on experience and a chance to try all sort of techniques and attendees will go home with lovely arrangements and a wire holder which they will fashion themselves under Julie’s expert guidance. This is to be held on 9th March at St Martin’s Parish Hall at a cost of £40 to include all the flowers, foliage, materials, and tuition. Advance booking only through Eventbrite.
Details of our future events are on our website,
