The Sunflower Project is inviting families impacted by a bereavement to attend a FREE Mother’s Day event on Sunday 8 March.
The event is being held at Les Camps Church Hall (opposite the Coop in St Martin) from 1.30pm until 3pm – drop in welcome at any point during this time.
As part of The Youth Commission for Guernsey and Alderney, the Sunflower Project provides support to children and young people who have been affected by a bereavement.
Our hope is to engage with the community to provide support to those attending and raise awareness of the services offered by The Sunflower Project. Families encouraged to attend may have experienced the death of a mum or maternal figure/carer or perhaps a Grandmother. We also encourage families to attend who have experienced the death of a father or father figure/carer who may like to attend to make something for their mum, so she doesn’t have to buy it for herself.
In previous years we have held the events at our Hub office in Town but we are relocating this year try to and engage with more people from the community.
This year we will have opportunities for children and young people to take part in games, gift share, be creative, and meet the bunnies. Free tea’s, coffees and cakes will be available.
Staff from the Sunflower Project will be available throughout the event to offer support, guidance and resources.
