The Household Reuse and Recycling Centre and the Household Green Waste Reception at La Collette remain open.

However, in light of the current coronavirus situation, Islanders are being asked to only use the facilities if necessary and are advised to expect delays of at least 30 minutes as the number of vehicles permitted onto each site at any one time is limited.

Islanders are also asked to ensure they follow the social distancing principles set out by the Government, of maintaining a distance of two metres (six feet) away from anyone who is not part of their household. Meanwhile, customers over the age of 65 and those who are self-isolating must not visit the facilities.

Emma Richardson-Calladine, Recycling Manager for the Department for Growth, Housing and Environment, said: “Although our sites remain open we want to urge Islanders to only use the facilities if it is absolutely essential. We also ask that customers to be patient if there are queues to access the sites – the rules around social distancing are in place to protect everyone within the community.”
