NSPCC Jersey has released the following statement:

Volunteer Chair of NSPCC Jersey’s Fundraising Committee, Nicola Santos Costa said: “In light of the global COVID-19 pandemic and in the interest of safety to all those involved we have taken the decision to cancel the biennial NSPCC Jersey Ball scheduled to take place at Trinity Manor this June.

“Thanks to the tireless dedication of our volunteers and supporters, the Ball has established itself as a social calendar highlight in the island over the last 20 years, enabling NSPCC Jersey to raise significant funds in order to continue to offer crucial support and therapeutic work to local children and their families.

“The Ball will return in June 2022 and we have been heartened by the response of local businesses and supporters who continue to pledge their support for NSPCC Jersey. Without their support and others like them it simply wouldn’t be possible to offer direct services from our Gower Centre on Stopford Road, or to continue to be there for children and adults in Jersey through Childline and the NSPCC Helpline at this time when everyone is asked to remain within their homes.”
