The Parish of St Helier has been looking at ways to support the message of social distancing at this crucial time, whether it be through continuation of services from our dedicated and hard-working teams, or exploring ways we can support the Government’s messages to stay home and practice social distancing.
46 bins throughout the town centre have now been embossed with posters carrying the social distancing message in a number of languages, serving as a reminder that as a community we can all do our bit and that we all have the power to beat this.
The Parish has also worked with estate agents and landlords to secure the empty window space by the Co Op at Charing Cross and use of the one of the windows from Queensway House (the old Next building), further empowering the sense of community coming together in times of adversity.
Simon Crowcroft, Constable of St Helier, said, ‘I would like to thank all involved in helping us to add strength to these messages, and hope that Islanders will take heed and stay safe.’
