In line with UK Scouting it has been decided that all face to face Scout meetings, activities and events in Jersey are to be suspended.

“The safety and welfare of all our members is paramount and we will follow the advice of UK Scouting and suspend meetings from now until further notice” says Glen Militis, Island Commissioner.

“This suspension also includes the use of the Island Scout Centre in St Ouen. Scouting is an important part of our young members lives and we will be looking at sharing activities online that they can do at home”.

There are 7 Scout Groups and 3 Explorer Units in Jersey with over 800 young members and 227 adult volunteers.

A message from UK Chief Commissioner, Tim Kidd

I think we all agree that it's in challenging times like these, that our Scout values matter most. We are talking to the Government and other community organisations to see how Scouts can support our country during this crisis. We must make sure that we do this in the safest possible way, and don't put anyone at further risk. We will update you more on this over the coming weeks.
