Channel Islands firms are being invited to apply to a worldwide programme designed to give ten innovative tech businesses the chance to shape the future of financial services.

The Barclays Accelerator is a partnership between Barclays and Techstars. Techstars provides funding from over 75 top venture capital firms and angel investors who are vested in the success of your startup, as well as intense mentorship from hundreds of the best entrepreneurs in the world.

The programme, is a three-month intensive start-up programme designed to support new businesses to deliver breakthrough innovations. It is the first financial technology accelerator of its kind to be run by Techstars, who have previously run similar initiatives with Nike and Microsoft.

Entrepreneurs and start-up companies are asked to focus their applications on improving the banking experience for consumers. Just ten companies across the world will be selected for a place on the prestigious Barclays Accelerator programme.

Over the next three years, Barclays and Techstars have committed to working together to offer six different accelerator programmes, this being the first, which will ultimately help sixty different companies.
