The Atlantic Hotel and their Michelin-starred chef Mark Jordan will be showcasing the best of Jersey’s produce at an exclusive event at One-O-One Restaurant at the Park Tower Hotel in Knightsbridge later this month.
Recognised as the third best restaurant in London by The Sunday Times in 2015, One-O-One Restaurant is renowned for its innovative seafood thanks to Head Chef, Pascal Proyart, who was in the island last November for Eat Jersey, The Atlantic Hotel’s inaugural gastronomic festival.
Pascal is passionate about bringing sustainable, inventive fish dishes to diners. This mirrors Mark Jordan’s own reputation for carefully curated dishes. Having held a Michelin star since 2007, Ocean Restaurant at The Atlantic Hotel is renowned for working with local fishermen and farmers to select the freshest seafood and most succulent Jersey beef.
The Atlantic Hotel's owner and Managing Director said: "The opportunity to showcase the best of Jersey’s produce at this prestigious restaurant is fantastic news for Jersey and for our food producers – we’re taking the best of Jersey into the heart of London to an audience of great gastronomes.
"Over the two days, each chef will serve dishes from specially created tasting menus that include their own signature dishes. The dishes will contain the best local ingredients including fresh Jersey beef, Jersey lobster and Jersey cheeses. It is a real honour for The Atlantic Hotel and Ocean Restaurant to be partnering with the team at the Park Tower Hotel which has been one of London’s leading five star properties for so many years."
The event will take place on 29 and 30 January, with a media lunch on 28 January. The lunch has been organised by One-O-One and The Atlantic Hotel to showcase Jersey to influential UK based media. Mark Jordan and Pascal Proyart will be cooking for representatives from ITV This Morning, BBC Good Food, The Telegraph, Observer Food Monthly and The Caterer amongst others. The event will be hosted by Patrick Burke and his wife Treena, and representatives from Visit Jersey and Locate Jersey will also be in attendance.
Mark Jordan has also recently been showcasing the best of Jersey at the prestigious Obsession Festival at Northcote in Lancashire. The festival, which is in its 16th year, boasted 18 Michelin stars and 18 chefs, cooking over 16 nights.
Chef patron, Nigel Haworth, handed over the reins of his kitchen to an international line-up including Jean-Luc Rocha (France); Annie Feolde (Italy); Hideaki Matuson (Japan); Lanshu Chen (Taiwan); Diego Hernandez (Mexico); Wojciech Modest Amaro (Poland) and Mark Jordan.
The festival saw 1,680 guests consume over 3,360 glasses of Louis Roederer Cristal, Vintage and Brut. The chefs prepared over 100 courses, which were paired with 100 wines from over 22 different countries.
