AFM have big compliance ambitions following the appointment of a senior manager.
Mark Couchman (pictured), who has 25 years of experience in the industry, will take on the new role across Jersey and Guernsey at AFM, who are aiming to become the island’s leading building compliance services provider.
Mr Couchman will take on company and client compliance, as well as surveying commercial and domestic properties, health care facilities, hospitals and schools. He’ll also work alongside plumbing and electrical managers to ensure compliance.
“As a highly experienced senior manager, I have secured and grown multiple contracts whilst implementing and developing the quality procedural actions required to ensure compliancy, and provide superior experiences and outcomes for clients,” he commented.
“I will certainly bring an independent, fresh set of eyes to the compliance activities that AFM undertakes and will develop a greater emphasis on the audit functions required to ensure continued quality and KPIs are achieved.”
Mr Couchman was previously based in Wales, where he worked at Dantek Environmental Services. That role saw him visit the Channel Islands over a period of six years, advising government, housing associations and landlords on compliance issues.
Mr Couchman’s wife and twins will join him in Jersey, which he claimed he, “…instantly fell in love with.”
“When AFM offered me the role, my wife and I had no hesitation in relocating with our family,” he added.
Mark Edgar, AFM Managing Director, described the new recruit as a “strategic appointment” for the facilities management company.
He commented: “No-one else in the islands will have the specialist experience that Mark brings with him. He will be instrumental in AFM further expanding its services and cementing our position as the most experienced and comprehensive facilities management company in the Channel Islands.”
