The Islands Insurance Group, Hepburns Insurance Limited Jersey and Hepburns Insurance Limited Guernsey are joining together to become one business.

Following regulatory approval, Islands has acquired the Guernsey and Jersey Hepburns businesses to form an insurance broking group that intends to deliver the long-term strategic objectives of both businesses.

Hepburns is the largest locally owned Insurance Brokerage in the Channel Islands, providing products and services to corporate businesses, professional practices, financial institutions and local companies.

All staff will be integrated into the expanded group, with 180 people will be employed by the new group.

Group Managing Director of Islands Tim Brangwyn (pictured top) said: "Islands and Hepburns are complementary insurance broking businesses, both with immensely talented professional teams and many years' experience of delivering excellent products and client service. The combined business will be even stronger and is in line with our strategy to provide a dedicated insurance advice service covering more complex risks for individuals and businesses in the Channel Islands".

Paul Macdonald, Director of Hepburns, added: "This is very good news for our clients, our staff and our stakeholders. The new Group will be able to build on our enviable reputations which are founded on a long history of service to the Channel Islands. As local businesses our independence as Brokers is paramount and the combination of Islands' and Hepburns' skills will create a formidable broking operation and competitive force."
