A new Co-operative Locale store is opening in Colomberie next Wednesday.
The 3,300 square foot store, which is located on the ground floor of 22 Colomberie where La Colomberie and Grenville Street meet, is creating 20 jobs whilst delivering more choice and convenience for Society members who live, commute through or work in the south east of St Helier.
Mark Cox, chief operating officer of The Channel Islands Co-operative Society, said: "We are delighted to announce the opening date of our new Locale Colomberie store, which is an exciting addition to our store portfolio and will provide greater convenience for our members in this busy area of town.
"We know that Islanders prefer shopping locally, often doing smaller shops on a more regular basis. The opening of this store, along with our recent addition in Grouville and the new development at Charing Cross, means that even more of our members will have access to a range of high quality, great value products on their doorstep."
As part of the renovation that has taken place, the exterior of the building has been rendered, insulated and modernised to transform the existing office block into a sustainable and environmentally friendly residential building.
Ilidio Fernandes, store manager at Locale Colomberie, added: "I am looking forward to welcoming Society members and the public to our Colomberie store. Our new employees have all undergone extensive customer service training, and we are currently preparing for what we hope to be a busy first day of trading."
