Intertrust has appointed Simon Mackenzie as Jersey Managing Director.

Mr Mackenzie joined Intertrust following its acquisition of Elian in September 2016 where he was group director and global head of corporate services. He played a key role in the growth of Elian following the MBO of Ogier Fiduciary Services in 2014.

Prior to this, he was a partner in the Ogier Group having originally joined Ogier Fiduciary Services in 2002.

In his new role, Mr Mackenzie will be leading the organisational and governance changes necessary to achieve full integration of the Jersey business into the group. He will oversee the establishment of the Intertrust brand in Jersey and build on the firm’s market-leading position in the fiduciary services sector.

Mr Mackenzie said: “I’m enthusiastic about the challenge of leading Intertrust Jersey and believe that there are some great opportunities to build on the solid foundation we have in the island.”

“We're proud to have such an expert and strong client-focused team. Our employees service a range of international clients from Jersey and we feel a strong sense of responsibility to this community, which we’re so proud to be a part of.”

Mr Mackenzie graduated from Dundee University as a Bachelor of Law in 1992 and has corporate services and fund administration experience and has held board positions and directorships in a variety of fields. He holds the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Diploma in International Trust Management and is a member of STEP and the Institute of Directors (IoD).
