Jersey Gas has moved into new energy efficient offices at La Collette, putting an end to 182 years at Tunnel Street.
The company says it made the move to showcase its range of commercial and domestic products, whilst also allowing space for the company to grow.
Jersey Gas has partnered with Vaillant Solar Thermal Installations to install a renewable, solar thermal system and an efficient gas boiler in the new building, to provide hot water and central heating in all communal areas. The system, which comes with a 100% recyclable stainless-steel boiler, should help reduce energy costs by up to 65%.
The company also installed the first gas driven ECO G Series air conditioning unit in the island, which features a combustion system that reduces Nitrogen Oxide emissions.
To design, manage, build and furnish the new offices, Jersey Gas worked with four local contractors, Axis Mason, Colin Smith Partnership (CSP), Mitchells Building Contractors and Bluesky Office.
Stuart Crossman, Director at Jersey Gas, said: "It’s a really exciting time for Jersey Gas and whilst it was sad to leave Tunnel Street, the move to our new premises supports our aim of investing in locally generated, sustainable and renewable gas products of the future. Our local contractors did a fantastic job and we are delighted with the finished product."
The move will not change the way customers pay their bills, they can still pay at all Jersey Post Office counters as well as at the company’s new offices at La Rue
