The Atlantic Hotel in St Brelade has been shortlisted for the Independent Hotel of the Year Award in this year’s Caterer and Hotelkeeper magazine’s awards.

The “Cateys” annual awards for British hospitality are regarded as the industry’s Oscars. Now in the 30th year, the awards will be presented at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane on 1 July.

The owner of the Atlantic Hotel’s owner, Patrick Burke, says it is a great honour and privilege to be listed listed amongst the very best establishments in the country.

“This achievement is testament to our efforts to maintain the very highest levels of service throughout every area of the hotel, the investment made in our new interactive website and our ongoing marketing campaigns that have attracted the attention of national media and generated significant business to the Island of Jersey from France, Switzerland and Germany,” he said.

Recipients are nominated, selected and awarded by the industry through Caterer and Hotelkeeper magazine.

More than 140 judges, selected for their expertise and industry knowledge, determine the shortlist for the Catey Awards after a rigorous initial selection process. Finalists must be able to demonstrate sound financial results, innovative marketing campaigns, exceptional standards of service and a clear strategy for future investment and growth.
