Frank De Mita has joined Jersey International Business School as Senior Lecturer and Director of Global Outreach and Development.
He began his legal career in Washington DC with Shaw Pittman Potts & Trowbridge (now Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman) specialising in tax and banking matters, before joining the staff of US Senator Paul Simon as Federal Election Law counsel.
After leaving law practice, Mr De Mita was a visiting fellow at the University of Oxford, where he also held the position of visiting research fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies working under the guidance of oil economist Robert Mabro.
Since his arrival in Jersey, Frank has lectured and written on topics ranging from financial crime, sanctions, US politics, and FATCA to the extraterritorial application of US law and regulation. He has served as a senior consultant for internal AML / CFT investigations on behalf of multinational financial services clients, and as a Technical Consultant to Jersey Finance Limited.
