Former firefighter takes on health and safety coordination role

Wednesday 22 August 2018

A former firefighter has been appointed as Law at Work's Health and Safety Business Partner.

As part of his new role with the health and safety specialist, Deano Davey will be supporting LAW's construction clients as their Health and Safety Project Coordinator.

He will be the main point of contact for construction clients during the design and planning stages of their projects to ensure compliance with legislation and minimise associated delays, as well as helping clients assess risks and develop appropriate practices to address them.

Previously, Mr Davey worked for Jersey Gas and Jersey Electricity in a number of roles, which included key elements of health and safety. Prior to that, he was a firefighter with the Airport Fire and Rescue Service. He is also a qualified gym and fitness instructor.

Kelly Flageul, Managing Director of LAW, said: “H&S is not just a legal requirement to keep employees and customers safe, it should be a real priority for businesses that are looking for efficiencies and a good reputation in the marketplace. Deano’s appointment really strengthens our team in this important area and I’m sure our clients will immediately benefit from his expertise.”
