Liberation Group celebrates regional success

Thursday 20 November 2014

Liberation Group is celebrating another major industry success after being awarded Silver for its Liberation Blonde craft beer at this year’s Craft Beer in Keg Southern Region competition, held at the Beer As Folk festival.

The Craft Beer in Keg competition is held by the Society of Independent Brewers’ Association and the southern region section is the first to be introduced following the dramatic increase in keg entries at the national SIBA competition, held at BeerX in Sheffield in March.

Liberation Blonde took silver in the Pale and Golden lagers category. It is a sparkling, light and refreshing beer, brewed in the craft style. The lager malt used provides a hint of biscuit with an aromatic citric hop arising from the blend of Saaz and Hallerton varieties. It is a well-balanced, easy drinking beer that is best served chilled.

Paul Hurley, Head Brewer at the Liberation Brewery said: “Since it was launched Blonde has been an extremely popular beer. It sold out in its first production run and we are delighted how many people enjoy it. Blonde is very easy to drink and works well with all kinds of food, or just as a drink to enjoy on its own. SIBA is one of our industry’s most highly regarded and respected associations and to receive this accolade from the judges, against very tough national competition, is particularly rewarding for the whole team here at the Brewery.”
