Pinel Advocates Venture Capital, the investment arm of Pinel Advocates, has invested in GardenTags, a new app for the gardening community.
GardenTags is a social network dedicated to gardeners. At the core of the app is a member-generated plant encyclopedia that helps members manage their gardens by providing them with the care instructions they need to tend to their plants.
The app was officially launched in February 2016, and now 70,000+ gardeners have downloaded it.
Co-founder David Scott said, “We are so pleased that with private investment from Jersey based businesses and individuals we have been able to scale rapidly to become the fastest growing gardening app in the app stores.”
Andrew Pinel of Pinel Advocates Venture Capital said: “I was delighted to be able to work with the GardenTags team and to make an investment. The app is really well-designed, the idea is very strong and the initial stages have exceeded targets. We look forward to being alongside GardenTags as it continues its route to success.”
Pinel Advocates is a boutique law firm in Jersey specialising in investment funds, corporate and commercial, trusts and foundations and regulatory business. In 2012, it established Pinel Advocates Venture Capital, an investment arm, with a particular interest in start-ups and the digital/technology sector.
