Offshore law firm Mourant Ozannes is advising Polyus Gold International Limited on the $9 billion unsolicited takeover offer for the company made by Sacturino Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wandle Holdings Limited. Wandle Holdings Limited, which is ultimately controlled by Said Kerimov, is an existing shareholder of Polyus Gold.
Polyus Gold, Russia's largest gold producer, is incorporated in Jersey and is listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange.
The Mourant Ozannes team advising on the deal is led by partner James Hill and senior associate Jon Woolrich.
Herbert Smith Freehills are acting as English counsel to Polyus Gold on the matter.
