Leading offshore law firm, Mourant Ozannes, has announced a significant number of promotions to Counsel across its Guernsey and Jersey offices.

A total of nine lawyers from across the firm's Channel Island offices have been appointed as Counsel in the global promotion round, more than doubling the total number of lawyers in this role.

Jonathan Rigby, Mourant Ozannes Global Managing Partner, said: "These promotions come at a key stage in our ambitious growth strategy. Not only do they send a strong signal to the market in terms of our growth and capability, they also demonstrate our commitment to recruiting and developing the best lawyers in their field."

"The large number of promotions this year reflects some key developments we've made to the Counsel role at Mourant Ozannes. The role here is distinct from other firms because it is dynamic and allows for flexibility of career progression. I'm very much looking forward to continuing to work with these individuals as they develop. Congratulations to all concerned."

Catherine Cadman, Global Head of Knowledge and Learning at Mourant Ozannes, added: "Our Career Development Framework (ADVANCE) provides our people with structured career progression and personal development opportunities.  The Framework not only helps our fee-earners to achieve their career ambitions with us, it also sets the very high bar for providing top quality legal services to our clients, and a strong platform for continuous improvement and innovation to develop our business."
