Thursday 03 May 2018

Offshore law firm Mourant Ozannes has appointed four lawyers to the role of Counsel, bringing the total number of Counsel across its global network to 23.

Litigators, Jennifer Maughan and Luke Olivier, and corporate and investment fund specialists, Dylan Latimer and Leanne Wallser, took up their new roles this month.

Mourant Global Managing Partner, Jonathan Rigby, said: "These individuals have been recognized for their commercial judgement, as well as their impressive technical skills, and their ability to build trusted relationships with our clients and their advisors.  I'm really pleased to see them continue to develop and grow their careers with us and wish them every success in their new roles as Counsel."

Luke Olivier is a lawyer in the Jersey litigation practice and has expertise in advising trust and corporate service providers in relation to contentious and non-contentious trusts/foundations work, with a particular specialism on assisting trustees/beneficiaries with issues relating to foreign tax authorities. He also has experience in insolvency litigation and restructuring matters, and regularly advises liquidators appointed over both insolvent trading companies and investment funds, asset based lenders, directors and insolvency practitioners on contentious insolvency issues.

Leanne Wallser is an investment funds and corporate lawyer with experience advising on all aspects of Jersey fund establishment, regulation, structuring, maintenance and termination. In addition to her funds work, she also advises on a range of corporate matters, including property financing and restructuring work. She has been with the firm since 2003 having worked in the Hong Kong, London and Jersey offices.

Dylan Latimer has worked for the firm's Guernsey practice for over five years, and Jennifer Maughan is a lawyer in the firm's thriving Hong Kong litigation practice.
