Jersey salon reaches British Hairdressing Business Awards finals

Thursday 02 August 2018

Neon Salon & School has been named as a finalist for the second year in a row in the Training Award at the British Hairdressing Business Awards, hosted by Hairdressers Journal International.

The awards, which are now in their twentieth year, seek to find and celebrate the UK's top salon businesses.

Based at David Place, Neon opened its doors two years ago. Owner Victoria Queree (pictured, right) wanted to offer a new style of hairdressing training with an intense focus on the practical skills needed by the industry and in a shorter time frame.

The Training Award celebrates the best educators in the country, shortlisted from salons or groups of salons that train up to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

Ms Queree said: “Applying for the British Hairdressing Business Awards was a chance for us be recognised for what we’ve achieved on a national level. It may sound like a cliche but it really is incredible to be nominated for this award again as we also shortlisted in 2017. The students in this intake have been incredible and it’s a testament to their dedication which has made NEON so successful to this point."

Jayne Lewis-Orr, HJ’s Executive Director, added: “Promoting professionalism, innovation and excellence, the British Hairdressing Business Awards recognise those individuals and teams who work tirelessly to raise the profile and stature of this industry, and make it one of which we can all be proud.”

Winners will be announced in London on 17 September.
