Standard Bank has promoted an employee with 17 years' experience in the firm to lead its Jersey operation.
Subject to regulatory approval, Charles Molteno will be taking on the role of Chief Executive of Standard Bank Jersey, taking responsibility for overseeing and coordinating all activities in the island from Will Thorpe, who retains the pan-island position of Chief Executive of Standard Bank International.
Mr Molteno joined Standard Bank after working in banking in Lagos and South Africa. He currently holds the position of Head of Risk for Wealth International.

The new Chief Executive commented following his appointment: "There are many developments on the horizon for the Financial Services sector, both in Jersey and globally. Our focus is to be client-centric which means positioning ourselves to bring the benefits of change to our clients in areas such as the digital revolution. I look forward to working with the Standard Bank teams in achieving our goals."
Mr Thorp added: "Charles' expertise, strategic insight and leadership will stand Wealth International in good stead to navigate any future challenges and achieve our objectives as we move into the next decade. This is a significant appointment for Standard Bank and I look forward to working with Charles to further our ambitions."
