Hawksford has appointed Darren Kelland as Global Head of Private Client.

A chartered accountant, Mr Kelland has more than 13 years’ experience working with private clients and family offices.

Before joining Hawksford, Mr Kelland was head of private wealth in Jersey at Intertrust (formerly Elian and Ogier FS) having previously held the role of director and head of the family office team, which he established in 2010.  He was a key member of the organisation’s risk assessment committee and also led the acquisition and integration of Allied Trust Company during 2014/2015.

Mr Kelland commented on his appointment: "I am delighted to be joining Hawksford and to have the opportunity to lead the global private client division. I truly believe that Jersey leads the way in terms of its offering to private clients and their advisers and continues to set the benchmark globally. As wealth continues to be created across the globe, clients become bigger, with more complex requirements. They are looking for us to simplify their lives. Jersey will continue to play a key role in servicing the requirements of these individuals. This provides us with an exciting opportunity to further develop Hawksford’s well established and highly regarded private client offering."

Michel van Leeuwin, Hawksford CEO, said: "We are very happy to welcome Darren to Hawksford. He has an incredible amount of experience, both as a director on a number of key client relationships as well as a proven track record as a leader and strategist. Under his leadership our private client division will continue to grow and develop, offering the highest levels of service to clients across the globe."
