Ogier named Best Offshore Law Firm in the Hedgeweek Awards 2016

Wednesday 02 March 2016

Ogier has been named Best Offshore Law Firm in this year’s Hedgeweek Awards.

The award is the result of a vote by readers of Hedgeweek across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific - including institutional and high net worth investors as well as managers and other industry professionals at fund administrators, prime brokers, custodians and advisers - who have elected Ogier ‘best in class’.

Ogier’s Global Head of Investment Funds, Giorgio Subiotto, said: “These highly regarded awards are unusual as they are entirely based on peer review.

“We are delighted that so many people have taken the time to vote for us. We have been focused on funds since the beginning of the industry and continued recognition of our international team is a welcome endorsement of their expertise.

“We draw on the experience of dedicated funds teams in BVI, Cayman, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Jersey and Luxembourg, where our onshore funds and tax capability sets us apart.

“Many of our specialists are high profile in their home jurisdictions, having played a leading role in developing market practice and drafting progressive funds legislation across a number of our jurisdictions.”

Ogier is based in eight international locations offering advice on five laws: BVI, Cayman, Guernsey, Jersey and Luxembourg. Its network of offices also includes Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo. The firm counts the world’s leading financial institutions, professional advisers, regulatory bodies and high net worth individuals among its client base.

The Hedgeweek Global Awards 2016 were announced on Friday 26 February at a ceremony in London.

Ogier was recently named Best Caribbean Law Firm by Citywealth, International Team of the Year by STEP and Offshore Law Firm of the Year by The Lawyer.
