Prestigious award hat trick for Longueville Manor

Wednesday 14 October 2015

Longueville Manor are celebrating after three awards for the esteemed Relais & Châteaux property.

Five AA Red Stars, a top recommendation in the Good Food Guide 2016, and a special award from the Good Hotel Guide 2016 round off a very busy season for the hotel.

Longueville Manor has become one of only 32 hotels throughout the UK and Ireland with 5 Red Stars and Three Rosettes awarded by the AA. The Red Star rating is the highest for any hotel in the Channel Islands. The Manor was credited at an impressive award ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Monday 5th October attended by Proprietor Malcolm Lewis, Director Pedro Bento, Executive Chef Andrew Baird and Relais & Châteaux representatives.

Andrew Baird also received a cooking score of five in the Good Food Guide 2016, which puts him above one of the Island’s Michelin-starred restaurants. The guide describes the Manor as a ‘hidden gem’ and Andrew’s cooking as a ‘who’s-who of Jersey produce served in intricate yet not over the top dishes’. It also credits the breadth of the wine list saying the Bordeaux section ‘really is something special.’

The hat-trick is complete with the Good Hotel Guide Editor’s Choice 2016 Awards selecting Longueville Manor as one of the top ten ‘Wedding Hotels’ in Britain. The Guide is known in the industry as the last bastion of independent and impartial advice, which makes the accolade even more desirable. The Editor’s Choice 2016 Awards will be celebrated at the Independent Hotel Show, Olympia, on October 20th.

Malcolm Lewis, Proprietor, Longueville Manor, says: "It’s been a fantastic year for Longueville Manor and the awards are a great achievement for the whole team. I am particularly proud of the 5 Red Stars and 3 Rosettes from the AA; Longueville Manor is now one of only three 5 Red Star hotels in the whole of the UK and Ireland that are independently owned and managed and this is no mean feat. The awards have cited our dedication to seamless and genuinely committed service and this is at the core of everything we do. The whole team now look forward to another busy period as we settle into autumn and afternoon tea by the log fire becomes Jersey’s most desirable activity!"
