Roberts Garage has announced the acquisition of Petroleum Distributors in Jersey and Guernsey.
The companies, which have served the Channel Islands since 1969, are responsible for distributing heating oil and road fuel to commercial and domestic customers. Petroleum Distributors also act as a leading contractor in maintaining forecourt plants and commercial equipment.
Roberts says the takeover will allow the company to remain competitive across Jersey and Guernsey, as well as strengthening its own business.
As part of the deal, the businesses – home to 30 staff and 17 fuel trucks – will remain under local management. The acquisition also includes MB Boiler Services Ltd.
Ricky Davey, Managing Director of Roberts Garages, said that he was “excited” about the acquisition. “By bringing the businesses together, we can streamline operations and provide a more competitive offer for our customers, while maintaining our strong links to the islands,” he commented.
David Norman, Managing Director of NGI, the parent company of Petroleum Distributors, NGI, added: “Our relationship with Roberts Garages goes back many years, which gives them an excellent understanding of the businesses. We are confident that this takeover by Roberts will strengthen PDJ and GPD, enabling them to prosper in the future and continue to support our customers.”
