Law At Work (Channel Islands) Limited has bolstered its health and safety team with the appointment of Scott Nelson to the role of Health and Safety Business Manager.

Mr Nelson has over 25 years’ experience working within the construction industry in Scotland and the Channel Islands, and in particular has project-managed some major construction projects in Jersey. In his new role he will draw on the varied site knowledge gained during his career, to deliver health and safety support to Law At Work’s clients, with responsibility for those clients that operate within the construction industry in the Channel Islands.

Kelly Flageul, Managing Director of Law At Work, said: "Scott’s appointment follows our acquisition of Normandie Health and Safety (Jersey) Limited which has lead to an increase in business in this particular area of Law At Work’s support services. Scott will help us to deliver health and safety support to our Channel Island client base, which includes a number of large and small companies operating within the construction industry.

"His extensive site experience and project management skills mean that he understands exactly what our clients in the construction industry need to achieve to successfully meet their legal obligations and provide a safe workplace for their customers and employees. He is therefore a true asset to the team and we welcome him onboard."

In his new role Mr Nelson will work closely with the client base to keep health and safety policies and procedures up to date, he will be carrying out site inspections, creating risk assessments and management action plans along with delivering tool-box talks. As well as his industry expertise, wide network of connections and strong project management skills, Mr Nelson also holds the NEBOSH certificate (which he gained while working for the British Airports Association), the CIEH Level 4 in Food Hygiene and is currently undertaking his City & Guilds in Education and Training.
