Law at Work appoints expert on quality management

Thursday 22 December 2022

Eddie Palmer, a former Warrant Officer in the British Army, has been appointed as an Associate Director for Health and Safety at Law at Work.

A qualified auditor with an extensive background in quality assurance, Mr Palmer will concentrate on expanding the health and safety role and enhancing the services that LAW provides to include assistance and training in quality management.

During a thirty-year career in the Royal Engineers, which included serving in Bosnia and Iraq, Mr Palmer was made an MBE in 2007 for services in Afghanistan. After moving to Jersey as part of the hospital development team, Mr Palmer has maintained his links to the armed forces community as a member of the Royal British Legion.

Heidi Gibaut, Group Managing Director LAW, said: “Eddie’s appointment brings a new dimension to our Health and Safety team, allowing us to offer a level of service to clients that isn’t currently available in the island. As the economy continues to recover, the pressure on businesses to get things right first time will increase and that’s why they need to make sure all their processes are up to date and work properly. That’s the service that Eddie will develop as he works with our clients to make sure they are successfully managing their projects.”

Mr Palmer added: “I am delighted to have joined the team and I am looking forward to developing the role and business. Assurance and compliance can very easily be forgotten when businesses are trying to deliver a project on time and within budget, but it is an essential element of the process... As I help to develop this service, I am hoping our clients will give me feedback about what we deliver so that we can make sure we are providing the services that our customers want.”
