JT scores silver in app awards

Tuesday 06 August 2019

A free customer app created by JT has beaten Manchester United FC to win silver in the Best App category at the recent UK Digital Experience Awards.

JT's My Account App came only second to BT's entry in the annual awards, which have run for the past five years and aim to celebrate how technology can enhance customer experience.

Downloaded over 40,000 times and used by a third of JT customers daily, the app was built locally and in-house by JT’s team of software developers working together with Hollis Consulting. JT customers helped with the development of the app, which includes a live chat function, via research panels and surveys.

The telecoms provider says the app has resulted in customer bill queries reducing by over 50% and has also had a positive contribution to JT’s commitment to the environment by reducing the need for paper bills by 62%.

“The team were already so pleased to have been shortlisted but being awarded silver in such a competitive category which included national household names is a really fantastic achievement for both the team and our customers, who have helped us to build it,” Dominic Vye, Head of Commercial Development,

“The interaction we have with our customers remains hugely important to the success of the JT My Account App, without them this would not have been possible. Being recognised by DXA is a testament to the relationship our teams have developed with our customers, so a big thank you to them for their continued support."
