Standard Chartered appoints new Head of Investments

Thursday 16 August 2018

Standard Chartered Private Bank's Wealth Intermediaries team has recently grown with the appointment of Stephan Geissmar as Head of Investments.

Mr Geissmar, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, will be responsible for supporting relationship managers in providing investment solutions that both protect and enhance intermediary clients’ wealth.

Adam Buxton, Head of Wealth Intermediaries, Standard Chartered Private Bank in Jersey, said: "We are delighted to welcome Stephan to our team. Stephan’s experience across multiple jurisdictions including South Africa, the UK and Jersey complements our knowledge and presence in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. His broad experience in the wealth industry will help us as we expand our services to clients with support from our global investment committee.

Mr Geissmar joins Standard Chartered from BNP Paribas Securities Services where he was a business development manager. He said: " I’m looking forward to engaging with our intermediary clients and helping them discover the most suitable investment solutions to achieve their clients’ wealth goals. Standard Chartered has a long association with the Channel Islands — celebrating 40 years in Jersey this year - and I look forward to deepening the long-standing relationships with many of the island’s wealth intermediaries."
