New bar and café to bring Ransoms family flair to Waterfront

Monday 17 June 2024

Two commercial units in St Helier’s Waterfront Horizon complex are set to be transformed into a bar and café run by a member of the family behind Ransoms Tearoom.

Lily-Rose Fenn, the daughter of Sarah Ransom, hopes to bring "fresh ideas" to Jersey’s culinary scene inspired by her travels.

In Horizon East, Ms Fenn is set to open a café that will offer "familiar favourites", whilst a unit in Horizon West will host her new bar and restaurant.

During the summer months, diners will be able to enjoy al fresco dining with views over the marina.

Ms Fenn said: “I am thrilled to announce the establishment at the Horizon Waterfront.

"I plan to celebrate my island roots, whilst also bringing fresh ideas – inspired by my travels and time spent working in hospitality in London.

"I can’t wait to welcome our community.”

Lee Henry, CEO of Jersey Development Company, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Lily-Rose to St Helier’s Waterfront.

"Lily-Rose’s close links and family connections to a very local, and widely respected family hospitality business along with some ideas from around the world – fits perfectly with JDC’s ethos of placemaking and creating sustainable communities.

"JDC’s ambition is to transform St Helier’s Waterfront into an engaging and active destination where people can live, work and play”.

All but four of the 280 apartments at Horizon have now been sold, meaning that St Helier’s Waterfront is now home to approximately 2,000 residents.

There are also more than 8,000 nearby office workers and over 1,000 public parking spaces in the immediate vicinity.

Ms Fenn's first unit is expected to open by the end of 2024.
