Viberts looks to the future with rapid growth

Monday 30 March 2015

As award-winning law firm Viberts goes from strength to strength during a period of rapid growth, the latest recruits to join the expanding team continue to boost the firm’s client-centric approach to delivering outstanding customer care and legal excellence.

Viberts welcomes a non-legal recruit in Jonathon Boleat as Finance and Administration Manager to oversee Viberts’ finance department. Jonathon makes the move to Viberts following eight years at Ernst & Young within their global assurance practice, as well as having completed a two year secondment in Wellington, New Zealand in 2013. A keen runner - to say the least - Jonathon also recently completed the 29th Marathon Des Sables, a multi-stage 250 kilometre adventure race across the Sarah Desert. Jonathon will assist Viberts with implementing its ambitious growth strategy.

Lara Zambon, previously a Paralegal at Collas Crill’s commercial department, has been brought on board to support the growth of Viberts’ commercial law team as a Legal Assistant. Having studied Law at Nottingham Trent University graduating in 2011 with a 2:1, Lara is now studying the distance Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School and hopes to commence her training contract on the completion of her degree in 2016. Lara brings a wealth of experience to the team having also completed a secondment at State Street’s in-house legal team and has operated across numerous corporate matters – from reinstatements of Jersey companies and inter-subsidiary company mergers, through to banking and finance matters and due diligence reporting. Slightly out of her usual commercial remit, Lara recently successfully defended a local business in an employment matter when a former employee brought a claim of unfair dismissal against the company. This was a great accomplishment for Lara, and demonstrates her capability even outside of her legal area given her background is in commercial law.

Finally, Ben Walker joins Viberts’ family law team as a Trainee Legal Assistant. Having graduated from Hautlieu in 2012, Ben has since spent time at RBSI and Standard Chartered and is now undertaking a distance Law degree with the Institute of Law alongside his full-time role at Viberts. Whilst at RBSI in 2013, Ben was part of the team who won the Chief Executive Team Excellence Award for outstanding team work.

Speaking of the latest additions to the Viberts team and the firm’s growth, Zoe Blomfield, Managing Partner said: “We are excited to welcome Lara, Jonathon and Ben who are excellent additions to the team and join at a crucial time in Viberts’ 80 year history. Lara brings a wealth of legal expertise which will greatly assist the commercial team’s growth; Jonathon will support Practice Director, Craig Grant in delivering Viberts’ ambitious growth strategy; and in line with Viberts’ values of supporting and nurturing local talent, we look forward to guiding Ben in his new career in law. We see 2015 as a year of considerable opportunity for Viberts. The firm is looking to invest in the future by expanding the practice, not only in terms of head count but also in terms of brand evolution. This is to support business development opportunities and to position the practice as a leading international law firm.”
