Zillah Howard is five times winner of European legal award

Wednesday 13 July 2016

Bedell Cristin partner, Zillah Howard, has been named ‘Best in Offshore’ for the fifth consecutive year in the Europe Women in Business Law Awards, organised by Euromoney Legal Media Group.

The awards, which were presented at a gala ceremony in London, attended by a wide cross section of Europe’s leading female lawyers, celebrate the achievement of women ‘leading the field’ in the European legal sector and those firms that set the standard with female-friendly employment practices.

Leading female lawyers from UK and European law firms were shortlisted in the various categories and Bedell Cristin was the only Jersey firm to have two lawyers named. Ms Howard was also included on the shortlist for the best ‘Trusts & Estates’ lawyer and Emily Haithwaite, a partner in the firm’s funds team, was shortlisted in the ‘Best in Offshore’ category.

Her involvement in the discussions on the next set of trusts law changes has extended to significant speaking engagements on the topic at the IBC International Trusts and Private Client Forum in Jersey and at Jersey Finance's Annual Private Wealth Conference in London.

Described by the Chambers 2016 Directory as being “First class…and at the top of her game,” Ms Howard is included in the leaders and power women lists compiled by Citywealth and in Expert Guides Top 30 for trusts and estates practitioners in the world. She has previously been named as one of the UK’s 50 most influential private client practitioners by the leading online private wealth publication, eprivateclient.

David Cadin, Managing Partner at Bedell Cristin, said: "It’s a first class achievement to have won this award consistently year on year. It's a tribute to Zillah’s exemplary client service skills, her wide ranging expertise in international private client work, and her commitment to industry working groups which play an important role in enhancing Jersey's private client offering in a global and competitive market place."
