Two people – one of whom had to be cut out of a car – needed hospital treatment last night after a two-car crash in St Peter.
The accident happened just before 18:00 at La Grande Route des Augerez.
There was significant damage to the driver’s side of one of the cars which meant the door wouldn’t open, and according to the fire service, “there was initial concern that the casualty was also trapped by her legs, due to the intrusion of vehicle parts into the side of the driver’s seat and footwell.”
Five firemen, using hydraulic cutting gear, released her and paramedics took her to hospital. No more details have been released about her condition, or of the other driver, who was also taken to hospital.
Police are continuing to investigate what happened.
