Saturday 28 May 2016

Local singers and dancers will be supporting the world's number one Musical Theatre boy band at a big concert at Fort Regent this weekend.

Collabro, who won the eighth series of Britain's Got Talent in 2014, are coming over to launch the finals of the Dance World Cup.

The big dance event that starts on Saturday 25 June attracts thousands of young dancers from all around the world.

Collabro said: "We are so looking forward to being part of this prestigious event and being involved in the countdown to the DWC Finals 2016 competition which commences on June 25th 2016, also at Fort Regent."

The group will be supported on the night by dancers and performers from the internationally renowned Bird College, including its Artistic Director, Luis De Abreu, who was brought up Jersey, and Choreographer Kieran Donavan. Local dancers from the Island's dance schools will be performing alongside the dancers from the College.

Acapella Jersey, an all-female singing group, led by musical director Hannah Jacques, Stuart and Callum Gillies and Laura Butlin - a Jersey based singer songwriter who has recently released her debut EP Moder Playground Love, will all be on stage on Saturday night.

The concert starts at 8 pm and you can buy tickets for £25 here.

Collabro have enjoyed massive success since sweeping to victory on the ITV reality show. They won a £250,000 cash prize as well as a much-coveted slot on The Royal Variety Show and went on to sign with Simon Cowell's Syco Music. They've since had a number one album and two sell-out tours.

If you want to meet the band, VIP tickets cost £75 and include drinks and canapés.
