Bulls make history by charging into FA Cup

The Jersey Bulls will be achieving one of their "long-held ambitions" this summer, making history as the island's first male football team to take part in the FA Cup.

Jersey Bulls FC will be included in FA Cup draw on 9 July 2021, with the first matches due to be played on 31 July 2021.

Details of the Bulls' future games will be published on their website and via social media and supporters are encouraged to check for fixtures.

The Football Association will be announcing prize funds and the full list of participating teams on 2 July. They will confirm the first two rounds of the FA Cup, FA Trophy, FA Vase and FA Youth Cup the following week.

All three competitions have been oversubscribed, with only those teams in Step 5 and above who had applied being included automatically in the draw, 729 teams in total. An additional eight teams will come from step 6.

After previously being held back by the FA due to covid-19, the Bulls finally were able to charge up the league ladder last month, having secured promotion to the step five of the non-league football system to join the Combined Counties League Premier Division South.

"We look forward to welcoming some new opposition to Springfield and to taking our team on this exciting journey.”

With an unbeaten run of 36 games, Jersey Bulls are hoping to continue this winning streak in the new season which launches on 7 August 2021. 

This summer, they were also due to host their inaugural VBET Cup Competition, which is expected see three teams play at Springfield across 10 and 11 July.

However, it is unclear whether this will still be able to go ahead due to the changing covid situation.

The first team being welcomed to the stadium was due to be FC United from Manchester, which is the largest fan-owned club in the UK.

One of the oldest clubs in the world, Cray Wanderers FC was also due also be competing, as well as Hashtag United FC, a semi-professional club based in Essex with more than one million social media followers that was founded by popular FIFA YouTuber Spencer Owen.
