Could you give "cuddly” and “playful” Khan a new home?

Sunday 19 November 2023

The JSPCA is looking for someone who will adopt a "boisterous but affectionate" black and white cat – the animal shelter's “longest feline resident”.

Six-year-old Khan, who arrived at the JSPCA in December 2022, has been waiting for a home longer than any of the other cats.

The animal shelter said: “Khan loves being around people and having all attention on him, and he especially enjoys curling up next to people on the sofa or claiming your lap as his own to take a nap on.

“He is very playful and loves chasing toys around, especially bits of rope or string.

“He loves getting a fuss under his chin and having back scratches, however, this needs to be on his terms as he can also be very quick to let you know when he wants to have time to himself and not be fussed over.

“Khan is full of personality and you definitely won’t have a dull moment with him around.”

Khan spent some time in a temporary foster home as part of the JSPCA's Guardian Scheme which allows islanders to help with pet care on a flexible basis, reducing kennel time for animals.

Khan's temporary guardian described him as “very sociable”.

They added: “He follows you from room to room and likes to sit with you on the sofa or on your lap. He liked to sleep on my bed at night."

Khan is looking for a home without other pets or children under the age of 14.

He also has a few medical problems, including cystitis, which means he needs special food and a food puzzle to slow down his eating.

To give a permanent home to this affectionate boy, fill in the online form on the JSPCA website or visit their reception.
